The Fool

This is a card from the Radiant Rider Waite deck. Perfect for beginners. It has the imagery to help you remember what each card is talking about. Other decks, like the one shown below, are missing some of this imagery, so are usually best used by a reader who has a grasp on the basic concepts of tarot.:)

The Fool is the first card of the Tarot, and fittingly, it talks about new beginnings, and fresh starts.
As you can see, it looks as though he is about to just carelessly walk of the edge of a cliff.
This is where blind faith comes in. He doesn't care about consequences. Blind faith is his only guide.
Dogs typically represent faithfulness and loyalty..in this case, it represents the rewards we will get when we have faith while on our path.
This is a card of infinite possibilities. The Fool has all he needs in his knapsack, to go wherever he wants, and to be whatever he wants.
Other cards throughout the tarot can represent the querent, or someone in their lives. The Fool always represents the querent. (the querent is the person receiving the reading)
Not all renditions depict the dog, as you can see here. But the dog is a reminder..that even though we are just going on blind faith, sometimes we need to pay attention to where we are going, or we may not be happy with where we end up!
So enjoy the ride! New beginnings can be a fun and exciting time..just remember to pay attention:)
