The Magician

The Magician. He has all the tools he needs, laid out right before him. A Wand,(rod, stave) a Chalice (cup) A Pentacle (disc) and a Sword. All the elements/suits of the Tarot.
The lemniscate (infinity symbol)above his head indicates intellect and energy of thought.
Often times when he presents these items in a reading, it means that an image, thought or idea will present itself to you (the qurrent, person being read for)
This will answer a question they have been asking, or bring them an inspiration if that is what is needed, you get the idea...
This card can sometimes indicate someone who has a career in the "verbal arts" salesperson, storyteller, commentator, etc..
I like to think of this card telling you, often times, you have all the tools you need, you just don't necessarily realize it.
The Magician has the power to manifest. Plain and simple. Do you? Yes, you do. Do you have the tools you need to do so? Maybe, maybe not. That question is best answered by the qurrent, after some reflection.

The Fool

This is a card from the Radiant Rider Waite deck. Perfect for beginners. It has the imagery to help you remember what each card is talking about. Other decks, like the one shown below, are missing some of this imagery, so are usually best used by a reader who has a grasp on the basic concepts of tarot.:)

The Fool is the first card of the Tarot, and fittingly, it talks about new beginnings, and fresh starts.
As you can see, it looks as though he is about to just carelessly walk of the edge of a cliff.
This is where blind faith comes in. He doesn't care about consequences. Blind faith is his only guide.
Dogs typically represent faithfulness and loyalty..in this case, it represents the rewards we will get when we have faith while on our path.
This is a card of infinite possibilities. The Fool has all he needs in his knapsack, to go wherever he wants, and to be whatever he wants.
Other cards throughout the tarot can represent the querent, or someone in their lives. The Fool always represents the querent. (the querent is the person receiving the reading)
Not all renditions depict the dog, as you can see here. But the dog is a reminder..that even though we are just going on blind faith, sometimes we need to pay attention to where we are going, or we may not be happy with where we end up!
So enjoy the ride! New beginnings can be a fun and exciting time..just remember to pay attention:)

Welcome!

Ok, so this is just an idea I had...I am in the midst of teaching a Tarot class, and so I thought it might be fun to do a blog on the Tarot. I recently started my personal blog, and thought this might be a nice addition to it:)

So, this page is a place where you can learn about the tarot, little by little. And for those who are already familiar with it, a place where you might gain a new perspective, or layout ideas..etc..

I will talk about each card, it's general meaning, additional info, also the imagery of the cards, on standard (universal ) decks.

All of the 78 card meanings are necessary and essential for a full understanding of the entire Tarot.
The Major Arcana (big secret in latin) the first 22 cards of the Tarot, deal with the human condition.
Each card talks about the happiness, the sorrow, and everything in between, that every person can feel or experience in life. It is the drama called life.....

In the next blog I will start the journey of the Tarot with The Fool...
only because it's late and I have an early looong day ahead of me.

I welcome you, and hope you enjoy this new journey with me!

Brightest Blessings
and Go Bruins!!!
Angela:)
